SACP picktet at the EU Offices

4 March 2008

Members of the SACP are gathering, today at 10H00, at the European Union offices. The picket is in support of the South African government negotiation team currenty in Botswana negotiating the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA).

The SACP expresses its strongest condemnation of the EU’s remorseless bullying particularly of the least developed countries of our region, forcing them into so-called “partnership” agreements that will deepen their neo-colonial plight. We call for a comprehensive review of the interim EPAs that some countries were forced to sign at the end of last year under threat of severe economic disruption.

The picket is at the following venue:

No 27 George Storra Drive
2nd Green Park Esatate
Groenkloof
Opposite SABS
Pretoria

Issued by the SACP.
