The South African Communist Party (SACP) is to hold a press briefing following its 2006 Augmented Central Committee Meeting.
The Augmented Central Committee Meeting took place from 24 to 26 November 26, 2006. The meeting discussed a number of issues, including the political report by the General Secretary of the SACP Cde Blade Nzimande. Amongst others the meeting discussed the SACP 2006 program of Action and developed a proposed 2007 program of Action. The meeting also discussed the Alliance and the role to be played by Communists in building a strong Alliance and SACP structures in its preparation for the 12th congress to take place next year. The SACP also discussed a policy framework for effective participation at the forthcoming ANC policy conference next year and for its own 12th Congress resolutions.
More important the SACP central committee discussed its discussion document whose thrust is how the SACP relates to stat power.
