The Central Committee (CC) of the South African Communist Party (SACP) will be holding its 4th Augmented Central Committee of the 11th Congress, as an extended meeting in Johannesburg from 24to 26 November 2006. In its agenda, the ACC meeting will discuss the following:
Political Report of the SACP General Secretary, evaluation of the SACP´s 2006 Programme of Action and adoption of 2007 Program, assessment of, and taking forward our Red October Campaign on Public Transport.
Some of the agenda items for this Augmented Central Committee Meeting will include:
The extended CC meeting will be attended by 30 elected members of the CC, 9 Provincial Secretaries, 9 Provincial Chairpersons, Provincial Treasurers and Gender Co-ordinators, the National Working Committee of the YCL and more than 45 District Secretaries from across the country.
On the opening day, Blade Nzimande, General Secretary of the SACP will table the Political Report which focuses on an SACP political assessment of the year 2006 and lays the basis for an SACP approach to 2007. The report pays attention to key moments in 2006 and taking forward the strategy and tactics of the SACP in the contemporary period.
Members of the press are hereby invited to a post Central Committee press briefing to announce the outcomes of the Central Committee which will be held as follow:
