The SACP has received with immense sadness the news of the passing away of Stella Sicgau, the Minister of Public works.

We would like to express our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to her family, to the ANC and the Government.

Minister Sicgau will be remembered for her sterling role in the post apartheid South Africa and her selfless commitment to the reconstruction and development of our country. Her commitment to building a strong democracy will serve as a living memory to all of us.

In her memory, we will tirelessly work to build a better life for our people and save them from the misery of poverty and unemployment that they find themselves trapped in daily.
