Blade Nzimande to Address SADTU North West Provincial Congress

The SACP General Secretary Comrade Blade Nzimande will be addressing SADTU Provincial Congress. Comrade Blade will focus on a number of issues within the context of the congress theme which is: "Consolidating working class power through quality public education and social transformation".

Matters to be addressed include:

The challenges and urgency of wiping out apartheid school backlogs
Education in farm areas, including need to expropriate all land on which farm schools are built
Urgency of SADTU and democratic movement to undertake a comprehensive review of educational progress since 1994, especially against the goal of the Freedom Charter for the doors of learning and culture to be open to all
General challenges facing the working class
Update on progress of SACP campaigns, including demand for credit amnesty and new model to finance low cost housing
