SACP General Secretary Blade Nzimande to address the National Agricultural Summit in Tshwane

The South African Communist Party (SACP) General Secretary Blade Nzimande is to address the National African Farmers Union (NAFU) at its National Agricultural Summit to be held in Pretoria today. The summit is aimed at creating a platform for active interaction among farmers and agricultural stakeholders in general.

Comrade Nzimande is expected to raise issues raised by the SACP' s 2005 Red October Campaign and the role to be played by the agricultural industry in creating better lives for farm workers and dwellers. Among others Nzimande will raise the issue of the National Land summit proposed by the SACP, the speeding up of land and agrarian reform for and in favor of the poor and the landless, and the fight against the abuse of farm workers and access to farms by unions and organizations.
