Comrade Raymond Mhlaba, former National Chairperson of the SACP, has been ill for a while. As part of its ongoing support for Comrade Mhlaba and his family, Blade Nzimande, SACP General Secretary, will tomorrow lead an official SACP delegation for an official SACP visit to wish Mhlaba speedy progress & strength.
The Communist Party delegation will include Lindelwa Dunjwa (SACP Central Committee member) and all SACP Provincial Secretaries.
The details of the official visit are:
Date - Wednesday, 19 January
Venue - 5 Millard Crescent, Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth
Time - 13h00
Together with Govan Mbeki, Mhlaba belongs to a special cadre of Communist Party members and leaders who were together with Mandela, Tambo and Sisulu as the founding fathers of South Africa's democracy. It is this example of communist activism for national liberation and democracy that inspired later & current generations of communists and non-communists in the struggle to defeat apartheid and build a people's South Africa.
