The South African Communist Party (SACP) wishes Bafana Bafana well in its match with Nigeria in the Nelson Mandela Challenge tonight. We call on the spectators and all football supporters to enjoy this match as a tribute to the development of soccer and sports in Africa in line with the need for economic growth and development of our continent.
The SACP also regards the match as an important contribution to friendship and solidarity between our two peoples and countries, and pan-African solidarity. This friendship and solidarity are crucial in turning the tide against xenophobia in our country and in meeting the challenges of under-development throughout the continent.
