The 10th Plenary Session of the 11th Congress Central Committee (CC) of the South African Communist Party (SACP) will be held as an extended meeting in Johannesburg from 19 to 21 November 2004. In its agenda, the CC meeting will discuss the following:
Political Report of the SACP Secretariat SACP Program of Action for 2005 Assessment of, and Way Forward on the Red October Campaign on Land and Agrarian Reform
This will be the second biggest national meeting of the SACP since its 11th Congress held in July 2002. The extended CC meeting will be attended by 30 elected members of the CC, 9 Provincial Secretaries, 9 Provincial Chairpersons and 45 District Secretaries from across the country. During the CC, the Dora Tamana Savings and Credit Co-operatives (the Dora Tamana Communist Stokvel) TSACCO will be launched. For this occasion we have also invited key SACP members in government, trade unions and civil society.
On the opening day, Blade Nzimande will table the Political Report of the SACP Secretariat which focuses on an SACP political assessment of the year 2004 and lays the basis for an SACP approach to 2005. The report pays attention to key moments in 2004 including the 11th anniversary commemoration of the death of Chris Hani, the Red October Campaign and the Zimbabwean crisis.
