The South African Communist Party (SACP) is deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates star, Lesley Manyathela. The death of such a young and talented player is tragic and a loss to the nation
Manyathela currently sought by overseas clubs and leading PSL goal-scorer, clearly had a very bright future ahead of him. The whole soccer fraternity has been robbed of this jewel of our nation.
The SACP expresses its heartfelt condolences to the Manyathela family; coach, officials and players in Bafana Bafana; Irvin Khoza, officials, players and supporters of Orlando Pirates Football Club.
We call upon our country’s youth in particular to honour Manyathela’s memory as a national hero by ensuring that they follow his example by working harder and with dedication in their endeavours and with loyalty to the South African people.
