SACP Central Commitee to Meet

25 November 2002

The 11th Congress Central Committee (CC) of the South African Communist Party (SACP) will hold its Second Plenary Session in the form of a Lekgotla from 28 to 30 November.

In its agenda, the CC will discuss the following:

• Political Report from the SACP Secretariat
  
• Strategy and Tactics of the ANC
  
• Land and agrarian reform in South Africa: building the motive forces for rural transformation
  
• SACP perspectives on the Growth and Development Strategy
• Review of the 2002 Red October Campaign including SACP perspectives on the need for a comprehensive social security programme

The SACP has invited Comrade Joel Netshitenzhe and Minister Zola Skweyiya to address the CC on the Strategy and Tactics of the ANC, and social security respectively.

The Political Report of the SACP Secretariat will cover the following issues:

• Tasks of the National Liberation Movement
• The role of the SACP in the current period

The CC Lekgotla will also discuss and adopt the following documents - Annual Report for 2002, a Five Year Programme of Action from the 11th Congress and the Annual Programme of Action for 2003.
