SACP Mobilise Zeerust Rural Villages and Chiefs Behind the Campaign to Make Banks Serve the People

As part of the Red October Campaign to Make Banks Serve the People, the South African Communist Party (SACP) will hold two Provincial People's and Worker's Forums in the Nyetse Village and Dinukana Royal Palace in Zeerust (North West Province) as detailed below.

The Forum at the Dinukana Royal Palace will also pay tribute to the late Chief Moilwa of the Bafurutshe who led his people in the 1958 Defiance Campaign against apartheid laws. Both Forums have been officially endorsed by the current Chief Moilwa, the son of the late Chief Moilwa.

The SACP General Secretary, Blade Nzimande will address these Forums (public meetings) reporting to the people of Zeerust about how far the campaign to make banks serve the people is. Through these Forums the SACP will also listen to the people in order to collect and consolidate demands from the people on how to fundamentally transform the entire financial sector in our country. This is in advance of the NEDLAC Summit on the financial sector now scheduled to be held in January 2002.
