SACP Press Conference

Following its 3rd meeting this year, the Central Committee (CC) of the South African Communist Party (SACP) will hold a press conference as detailed below.

DATE : Sunday, 16 September 2001
TIME : 13h00 - 13h30
VENUE : Yeoville - Elijah Barayi Centre (NUM), Old Harrow Road and Saunders Street in Yeoville (on the border of Berea/Yeoville just next to bridge above the main Harrow Road)

The Press Conference will be addressed by SACP officials including Blade Nzimande (General Secretary), Jeremy Cronin (Deputy General Secretary) and other SACP leaders.

The issues to be covered in the press conference include:

• The way forward on the restructuring of state assets
• Preparations for the ANC-SACP-COSATU Alliance Summit
• Taking forward the SACP led Campaign to Make Banks Serve the People in view of the NEDLAC Summit on the financial sector due to be held in November 2001
