This visit is part of SACP declared Red Weekend Against Blacklisting from 30 June to 01 July. Seven of our nine provinces will convene People's Public Hearings, for our people to tell us in their numbers about the functioning and the regulations needed to ensure that credit bureaus in South Africa operate in a transparent manner, and in a way that does not prejudice fair access to credit. Details of other public meetings on credit bureaus in other provinces are available below.

This is part of the SACP contribution to the investigation of Credit Bureaus by the Department of Trade and Industry launched in May this year. The SACP calls on all South Africans to be part of these public meetings and to participate in the government investigation of credit bureaus.
