Dr Blade Nzimamde to Address SACP North West Congress

The North West Province of the South African Communist Party (SACP) will hold its fourth Provincial Congress this weekend in Potchefstroom from Friday, 25 May to Sunday, 27 May 2001. Comrade Blade Nzimande, the General Secretary of the SACP will deliver the keynote address to the Congress as detailed below.

 

The Congress will bring together 160 delegates from branches throughout the North West Province, as well as our alliance partners and other solidarity organisations, said Howard Yawa, SACP North West Provincial Secretary.

The Agenda of the Congress, held under the theme of Holding the great banner of Chris Hani high, will include the following:

 

The Provincial Congress will emerge with a programme of action which will ensure that poor and working people benefit the most from current struggles to transform South Africa, concluded Howard Yawa. The Congress will be concluded with the adoption of a Programme of Action and a Congress Declaration.

The SACP North West Province invites the media to the opening address by Comrade Blade Nzimande (Friday, 25 May as detailed above) and to the final session which will also adopt the Congress Declaration from 12h30 on Sunday, 27 May 2001.
