Sacp Central Committee Meeting And Press Conference Sacp Meeting With The Banking Council

The Central Committee (CC) of the South African Communist Party (SACP) will hold its 1st meeting for 2001 from Friday, 02 February to Sunday, 04 February in Johannesburg.

This meeting will discuss, amongst others, the following issues:

• The Banks Campaign +IBM- the Campaign for the Transformation and Diversification of the Financial Sector
• The SACP meeting with the Banking Council of South Africa on 05 February
• Restructuring of state assets focusing on Telkom
• Implementing the ANC Manifesto Commitment to provide free basic services

PRESS CONFERENCE

Following the CC meeting, a press conference will be held as detailed below:

• DATE : Sunday, 04 February 2001
• TIME : 13h00 - 13h30
• VENUE : Elijah Barayi Centre, 49 Old Harrow Road corner Saunders Street (above main Harrow Road) Yeoville

The Press Conference will be addressed by SACP officials including Blade Nzimande (General Secretary), Charles Nqakula (National Chairperson), and Jeremy Cronin (Deputy General Secretary).

In this press conference, the SACP will address the same issues discussed at the CC meeting.
