The South African Communist Party (SACP) heartily welcomes the new appointments to the country+IBk-s cabinet announced at the end of the cabinet lekgotla today. The new appointments are:
- Lindiwe Sisulu +IBM- Minister of Intelligence - Charles Nqakula +IBM- Deputy Minister of Home Affairs - Mosibudi Mangena +IBM- Deputy Minister of Education - Musa Zondi +IBM- Deputy Minister of Public Works
We are particularly pleased at the appointment of the SACP National Chairperson, Comrade Charles Nqakula, to the post of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. As the SACP we proud ourselves in the diverse contributions made by thousands of our activists in gove rnment, the ANC, unions, the mass movement and NGOs.
Further, the SACP also welcomes the president of the Azanian People+IBk-s Organisation (AZAPO), Comrade Mosibudi Mangena, and Musa Zondi to the cabinet and trust that they will contribute to the struggle for a better life for all. Their appointment is a si gnificant step in the deepening of our national unity and solidarity amongst all our peoples.
The SACP calls on the new ministers to join the national effort for the eradication of poverty and fundamental transformation of our country in favour of poor and working people.
