SACP's Blade Nzimande to Address International Conference on Co-Operatives

On Monday, 11 December 2000, the General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), Blade Nzimande, will open the African Regional Conference on Social Services and Job Creation through Co-operatives.

The Conference is co-hosted by the National Co-operative Association of South Africa and the International Co-operative Alliance with the support of the International Labour Organisation.

The Conference will grapple with how co-operatives can contribute to the delivery of social services such as education, water, roads, etc. and in creating employment.

The Conference will bring together co-operative activists, leaders and experts from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Canada, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, India, Italy, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Norway, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
