Update on SACP Election Campaign

Led by the SACP General Secretary, Blade Nzimande, and other SACP leaders the SACP election campaign has kicked with high gusto in all provinces.

Hundreds of SACP members have gone to factories, shops, in taxi ranks, train stations, bus stops and other public areas distributing leaflets and talking to workers and our people generally about why they must vote ANC on 05 December. The main messages of the SACP were the need for mass mobilisation in order to achieve:

In response, many of the workers were highly positive and receptive of the SACP campaign. Many workers expressed concern about accountability of councillors and the need to improve service delivery. To this end many of the workers agreed with the SACP argu ment that the elections and voting ANC are important, but mass mobilisation is key after the elections.

Through this exercise, the SACP has distributed more than 300 000 leaflets across the country.
