The South African Communist Party Mourns Parks Mankahlana
The South African Communist Party shares the pain and grief felt by the family of Comrade Parks Mankahlana and indeed all of us over his death. We share this great loss together with the family, the office of the President of the Republic, the African Nati onal Congress, the ANC Youth League and indeed the entire liberation movement.
The SACP salutes this hero of our revolution, who from early on in his life dedicated his life and energy to the cause of national liberation through the South African Youth Congress, and the ANC Youth League later on. In many ways he embodied the spirit, aspirations and activism of the young lions produced by our revolution in the last two decades.
We will remember him and honour his memory for his contribution not only to the liberation movement but also to the task of transforming society through his role as the first spokesperson of the first democratically elected president and later President Th abo Mbeki.
Comrade Parks leaves us at a tender age when he still had so much to contribute to our revolution. Hamba Kahle Comrade Parks
