Blade Nzimande to Address Numsa and SAMWU Congresses

The General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), Comrade Blade Nzimande will address the National Congresses of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA) and the South African Municipal Worker's Union (SAMWU) as detailed below.

NUMSA CONGRESS

DATE : Wednesday, 23 August 2000

VENUE : Mmabatho Convention Centre, Mmabatho North West Province

In his address to this Congress, Comrade Nzimande will discuss the following issues:

• Challenges facing the working class in current struggles for fundamental transformation
• The role and state of the ANC-SACP-COSATU alliance
• Building working class power for a mass movement for transformation

SAMWU CONGRESS

DATE : Thursday, 24 August 2000
TIME : 11h00
VENUE : Coastlands Conference Centre, West St. Durban, KwaZulu Natal Province

In addition to the issues already listed, Comrade Nzimande will also discuss socialist perspectives on local government transformation at the SAMWU Congress.
