In a brief news story released over the weekend by the AWB through SAPA, it
is claimed that the SACP was represented at a prison meeting
"organised" by Clive Derby-Lewis and attended by, among others, AWB
leader Eugene Terre'Blanche and SACP and CP representatives"
WE wish to point out the obvious: The SACP was not aware of this meeting , and
we were certainly not officially represented at it.
We also do not support any amnesty application by Derby-Lewis.
He should know that our principled support for the abolition of the death
penalty is, in no way, a complacency about grievous crimes, like the one he
committed.
