DURBAN - South African Communist Party (SACP) general secretary Blade Nzimande says the Gupta family is not the solution to addressing white monopoly capital.
Nzimande was speaking at the KwaZulu-Natal shop stewards council near South Beach on Sunday.
He criticised those who downplayed the recent credit rating downgrades to junk.
Congress of South African Trade Unions and the provincial African National Congress pledged their support.
Nzimande has criticised those who have downplayed the recent downgrades to junk status citing government employees' pensions that have been invested on the stock exchange via the Public Investment Corporation.
He has also taken a swipe at those who have accused the SACP of having an agenda when being critical of the tripartite alliance.
"These comrades speak as if the Guptas are our answers to monopoly capital. They are not our answer. In fact, if you weaken the state, you weaken our fight against monopoly capital and weaken transformation."
