JOHANNESBURG - Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande will be meeting with vice-chancellors on Tuesday.
The minister says systems have to be put in place for any eventuality as the academic year is set to start.
He says the meeting will cover a lot of issues, including ensuring NSFAS students are not affected by the fee increase.

"The reason why I'm meeting the vice-chancellors is part of meeting all the stakeholders," said Nzimande.
"Vice-chancellors are important as they are leading the management team in our institutions.
"We are concerned about the fact that the year must start properly, how ready are they, how ready are we as government and what the challenges are we are likely to meet."
When asked about the Durban University of Technology's Bonginkosi Khanyile, the minister says the student must face the music and the consequences.
Khanyile was arrested during violent free education protests in September.
He has been denied bail by the Durban magistrate's court on two occasions‚ but has appealed the decision the High Court in Pietermaritzburg.
