Minister of Higher Education and Training Blade Nzimande will meet with vice-chancellors of universities on Tuesday.
According to eNCA, the minister decided that systems have to be put in place as the academic year is starting soon. The meeting will cover a range of issues, including making sure that NSFAS students are not affected by the fee increase.
"Vice-chancellors are important as they are leading the management team in our institutions.We are concerned about the fact that the year must start properly, how ready are they, how ready are we as government and what the challenges are we are likely to meet," said Nzimande

On Durban University of Technology's Bonginkosi Khanyile, Nzimande said he (Khanyile) should face up to the consequences of his alleged actions.
Khanyile was arrested during violent free education protests in September and has been denied bail by the Durban magistrate's court on two occasions. He remains in custody.
