SACP general-secretary Blade Nzimande has called on Parliament to investigate alleged corruption and mismanagement in all State-owned enterprises.
He was speaking after a meeting of the SACP's Augmented Central Committee in Johannesburg. He says, "In view of the dysfunction, mismanagement and widespread corruption allegations in key state or corporations, we urge Parliament to carry out inquiries in Eskom, Transnet, Denel, PetroSA and South African Airways."
Earlier, Nzimande raised serious concerns about what he termed a lack of protocol and clear policy on the ANC's succession debate.
"It cannot be that each time there is a talk of succession, we have this turbulence. We are saying this because all this has a destabilizing factor in the alliance," Nzimande told reporters.
"There must be some protocol and policy that the ANC needs to develop. We want the ANC to find inclusive views not factional succession debate." - Additional reporting by ANA
