SABC News and Current Affairs - Tributes and messages of condolences are pouring in following the death of the former Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro. Castro died on Saturday morning at 05h30, South African time in Havana. He was 90. Castro was in poor health since an intestinal ailment in 2006. He took in a 1959 revolution and ruled Cuba for 49 years with a mix of charisma and iron will, creating a one-party state and becoming a central figure in the Cold War. South African Communist Party leader General Secretary, Blade Nzimande says South Africa will be eternally grateful to Fidel Castro for his humanity and solidarity.
