Today, a multitude of workers and citizens from all parts the country gather at Thomas Nkobi Cemetery at Boksburg, to remember the late South African Communist Party General Secretary, Comrade Chris Hani.

Addressing the gathering, the Congress of South African Trade Unions President, Comrade Sidumo Dlamini urged all workers across all workplaces to receive decision on the expulsion of the former General Secretary.

‘We have taken the decision after numerous considerations and with due process in terms of the provisions of COSATU Constitution, and decided that we must expel the General Secretary’, argued Cde Dlamini.

‘The Federation has over many months experience such a moment and now we argued that our Constitution must be respected by us all, irrespective of any individual standing’.

‘Comrade Chris Hani respected democratic centralism and that organizational decisions taken through internal debates, must be respected’, said Cde Dlamini

‘We have a responsibility to defend our South African revolution, and all who are in attack of the organization and the Alliance in general must be exposed’, concluded Cde Dlamini.

The South African Communist Party appealed that ‘majority of COSATU Unionists, the tens of thousands of shopstewards and the millions of organized workers in the Federation’s ranks will, once more, not fail the revolution’

The General Secretary of the Party delivered the message.

The President of the African National Congress and of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Jacob Zuma appealed for citizens to appreciate our history.

‘And people like Chris Hani must be remembered like the municipality of Ekurhuleni has done. Other municipalities must emulate what has been a good work done to create a Wall of Remembrance at the cemetery’, said Mr Zuma

Other messages of support were received from the MKVM and YCL.

Meanwhile, the family of Hani has appealed for all to give their respect to Chris Hani by stopping published malicious stories related the late leader.
