The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has refuted reports that it is considering taking legal action against the police following arrests in connection with the Brett Kebble murder case.

Reports have indicated that police officials are refusing to hand over documents relating to the case. Earlier this week, some political analysts said bickering between the Scorpions Unit and the police was hampering the execution of justice.

Makhosini Nkosi, the NPA spokesperson, denied the reports. "I'm not aware of that - I don't know where that comes from. Essentially, I was saying the NPA working with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in this case would really want to be given space by the media to conduct the investigation. It would not be possible for us to give a blow by blow account of what we do."
