SACP Gauteng calls for arrests in the murder of Cde Siphiwe Montlha

30 May 2018

The South African Communist Party (SACP) Gauteng Province calls on the police to urgently resolve the murder of case of our late comrade Siphiwe Montlha who was gunned down in Soshanguve, City of Tshwane.

As we prepare for Cde Siphiwe's memorial tomorrow, Wednesday 30th May we are deeply saddened by his untimely passing at the hands of criminals. We send our deepest condolences to the Montlha family and all Alliance comrades of Cde Siphiwe. His death has left us shocked and dismayed.

Montlha was the Ward 37 Councillor and a former Secretary of the SACP sub-district in Tshwane. He was an activist who had the community's interests at heart.

He was shot dead on Tuesday, 23 May 2018 while visiting a construction site at Block GG in Soshanguve.

We call on law enforcement agencies to find the culprits in this murder so that they can face the full might of the law.

We call on all members of the revolutionary Alliance to join us in celebrating Cde Siphiwe's life at the memorial service to be held as follows:

Date: 30 May 2018
Venue: KT Motubatsi Community Hall
Time: 14h00

Issued by the SACP Gauteng province
