The South African Communist Party convenes its Provincial Council
25 October 2016
The South African Communist Party (SACP), Eastern Cape will convene its Provincial Council on the weekend of 29 - 30 October 2016. The SACP Provincial Council will be an important platform in our party, it will serve as the command center for communists in assessing how far we have gone in the implementation of our South African Road to Socialism (SARS) programme and the state of the SACP as an organisation. This is important for our party given the challenges facing the South African revolution and the inability of the ANC led movement to rise to the occasion because of the tripling negative tendencies of rent seeking, corruption and blatant factionalism.
The Provincial Council is a platform to prepare our party for any eventually given the class battles underway in our country and those ahead as factionalists get more desperate and vicious. The council will receive a keynote address from the SACP 2nd Deputy General Secretary, Comrade Solly Mapaila and a political report to be delivered by the SACP Provincial Secretary, Comrade Xolile Nqatha on behalf of the SACP PEC.
These key messages will be preceded by the messages of support from our Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) and the leaders of our allies, the African National Congress (ANC), Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) and South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO). The council will also receive the organisational and financial report.
