Red October Campaign Rally

26 November 2015

"No revolution is worth anything unless it can defend itself."
- Vladimir Lenin

The South African Communist Party (SACP) is forging ahead with the twin tasks of its Red October Campaign 2015-2016, namely the transformation of the financial sector and the media.

The SACP has noted that in reaction to the campaigns, particularly the campaign on the transformation of the media, there are monopoly interests and their intermediary subordinates that have hatched a palace politics agenda to smear and tarnish the image of SACP leaders with an ultimate objective of weakening the Party`s efforts. The SACP expects this media strategy, which includes covering the Party and its leaders mainly in a negative light, if not increasingly exclusively so, to be intensified in the next two years.

The SACP will leave no stone unturned in defending its leaders and the whole of the Party and deepening the struggle to achieve radical transformation. This is class struggle, and will be a battle of a plan against plan! The SACP will not be derailed or defocused!

On Sunday, the SACP will hold a rally. Through the rally, the Party is intensifying its transformation programme, including mass mobilisation in all fronts, and will respond to some of the smear campaigns being unleashed against its leaders.

Speakers:

The rally will be addressed by SACP leaders, led by General Secretary Comrade Blade Nzimande.

It will receive messages of support from the Party`s youth-wing, the Young Communist League of South Africa, and from the alliance partners.

Date, time and venue details are as follows

Date: Sunday 29 November 2015
Starting time: 10:00am
Venue: Emalahleni Town Hall, Emalahleni, Mpumalanga Province

The media is invited to attend and cover the event.

Issued by the SACP Headquarters, Johannesburg
