1 Day Countdown - Augmented Central Committee

19 November 2015

The South African Communist Party (SACP) will hold its Augmented Central Committee Plenary Session from Friday to Sunday, 20-22 November 2015. In addition to standing members of the Central Committee, this Annual Plenum will be attended by delegates representing all SACP districts in good standing from across the country. The SACP has over 67 districts in good standing in all municipal areas leading thousands ward- and voting district-based branches of the Party.

The Plenum will also be attended by additional delegates from SACP provincial executive committees and the National Committee of the Young Communist League, inclusive of ex-officio members from the league's provinces. This in addition to SACP provincial secretaries and chairpersons and Young Communist League national secretary and chairperson, who are respectively ex-officio members of the Central Committee.

The Plenum will discuss the state of our ANC-led Alliance; the unity and cohesion of the motive forces of the national democratic revolution and the struggle for socialism; the overall political situation unfolding in our country and the world and its material basis in; the state of the economy.

The meeting will answer the question: What is to be done?

Red October Campaign Rally

Following the meeting, the SACP will hold a Red October Campaign Rally in Mpumalanga Province to take forward the campaign on the transformation of the financial sector and the media. The rally will be used as a platform to report back to members the outcomes of the Augmented Central Committee with focus on the state of the situation faced by the SACP and the working class and the tasks of the Party!

The rally, to be addressed by SACP General Secretary Comrade Blade Nzimande, will be held as follows.
