Transform the financial sector to serve the people

16 October 2015

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Eastern Cape has established the Financial Sector Campaign Coalition (FSCC). The FSCC is established in line with the Party's consistent campaign for the transformation and diversification of the financial sector to serve the people. This brings together a range of social forces, COSATU, ANC, SANCO, YCLSA, ANCYL, SASCO, COSAS, SACC, PAC, Taxi Association, SANGOCO, AZAPO, NAFCOC, EC Sports Council, Co-operatives Development Network and etc.

We, as the SACP are of the view that the transformation of the financial sector or winning any struggle whether in the boardroom or in the streets requires a unified working class and other progressive forces as a precondition for any possible advance.

The SACP led FSCC will hold a press conference to announce its leadership; the provincial march to the big banks which will be held on the 30 October 2015 in Port Elizabeth and further campaigns.

The press conference will be held as follows:

Date: 19 October 2015 (Monday)
Time: 10h00
Venue: 2nd Floor, Florence Matomela House, 344 Govan Mbeki Avenue, Port Elizabeth

Members of the media are invited to attend, cover and report the event.

Issued by the SACP Eastern Cape.
