SACP 94th Anniversy Rally
29 July 2015
The South African Communist Party (SACP) was founded on 30 July 1921 as the Communist Party of South Africa (CPSA). It was the first political organisation to be banned by the apartheid regime, in 1950, due its most advanced and resolute struggle against colonial and apartheid oppression, capitalist exploitation and imperialist domination. The Party reconstituted itself underground as the SACP immediately after it was banned. The SACP is the oldest and largest Communist Party in Africa, and the second oldest and largest political formation in South Africa after the African National Congress. The Party will this weekend celebrate its 94 years of unbroken service to our people and struggle against oppression and exploitation.
