Media Invitation: SACP 3rd Special National Congress

The media is invited to attend and cover SACP 3rd Special National Congress scheduled to take place as follows.
Date: 7 - 11 July 2015
Venue: University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus
The Secretariat of Central Committee, led by General Secretary Cde Blade Nzimande, 1st Deputy General Secretary Cde Jeremy Cronin and 2nd Deputy General Secretary Cde Solly Mapaila will present the following base documents:
- The Central Committee Political Report which analyses the political situation in our country and internationally, implications for, and the political tasks facing the SACP and our Liberation Alliance.
- The Context, Content and Strategic Tasks of the Second Radical Phase of our Democratic Transition.
- Organisational Review and the State of the Organisation Report.
- Meeting the Challenges Facing Labour and the Trade Union Movement.
The National Treasurer Cde Joyce Moloi-Moropa will present the Financial Report.
Our Liberation Alliance partners the ANC, Cosatu and Sanco, and youth-wing Young Communist League, as well as international Communist and Workers Parties from China, Cuba, Venezuela, Kurdistan, Swaziland and Sudan among others, will present messages of solidarity.
Pre-Congress media briefing session
The SACP will convene a media briefing session before the Special National Congress to outline its context, structure and programme, including open and closed sessions.
Journalists and Editors in their respective capacities are requested to complete the attached registration form and email it to the contacts indicated in the form by 30 June 2015.
Collection of accreditation tags and final registration in accordance with the completed forms received will take place on 7 July 2015 starting at 9h00 at the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus, Lecture Room A4 behind Imbizo Hall.
1st Day Press Conference
On 7 July 2015, 14h00-15h00 there will be 1st Day Press Conference at the same venue, University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus.
