SACP statement on attacks and insults on President Zuma
The SACP is outraged at the insulting, disrespectful, and frankly, disgusting, and sadistic so-called portrait of President Zuma by Brett Murray. This constitutes a grave insult not only to the person and dignity of the President, but an insult to all black South Africans and all other decent South Africans. This portrait is deeply offensive and an extreme act of provocation to the overwhelming majority of our people. To us Brett Murray has simply crossed the line.
SACP condemns DA violence
The SACP condemns Democratic Alliance violence brought to Braamfontein by its leader Helen Zille. In typical neo-colonial style, Zille hired unemployed youth from black communities in Midvaal and SOWETO to unleash them at their fellow blacks at COSATU House so that if violence erupts it would easily be explained as black on black violence. The odd crowd of the so called protestors came armed with stones, clearly ready and with the intention to engage in acts of violence including damage to property and injuries to innocent bystanders.
Bitter Helen Zille's tried to storm COSATU House – is hypocritical
The South African Communist Party sees Helen Zille's intended march on the Head Quarters of COSATU as opportunism and double standards, but even more significant as a sign that DA has gained enough confidence to finally unmask its disguise about whose interest ultimately it exists to serve. In the past the DA has denied that it is a proxy representative of big business, a face of the atrocious capitalist system of oppression and exploitation responsible retrenchment and casualisation of workers. In an effort to mislead South Africans DA has sought to present itself as a party that cares for the poor whereas in reality it favours policies that create poverty and inequality in society.
SACP statement on the 17 injured people
The SACP is angered about the reported stampede at the Pretoria’s main Bosman train station wherein 17 people were injured. The SACP has for years been worried and campaigning for a safe, reliable and integrated public transport system. It is not for the first time that there are problems being experienced at the Pretoria train station.
