SACP message to Madiba on his 92nd Birthday

Dear Cde Madiba

The South African Communist Party wishes you a wonderful 92nd birthday and many more years of happiness and fulfilment.

The SACP is immensely proud to have been in the trenches with you across many decades of struggle. We remain deeply inspired by your living legacy.

We were delighted to see your broad smile (and Soviet hat!) at Soccer City this past Sunday. Our country’s successful hosting of the FIFA 2010 World Cup has shown once more that South Africans across the spectrum continue to hold dear the ideals that you have done so much to foster - nation-building, unity in diversity, friendship with the world.

On behalf of all our SACP members, young and old – our gratitude to you and our very best wishes.
